CA Foundation Registration - Rules, Fees, last date and everything else"

CA Foundation, an entrance test into the Chartered Accountancy curriculum. One can do CA Foundation registration after appearing in 12th Board Examination. After registration, it is mandatory to undergo four months of study period which means if you wish to appear in Nov Examination then you must enroll yourself before 30th June with the ICAI and if you wish to appear in May Foundation Examinations, you are required to enroll before 31st Dec of the previous year.

CA Foundation Registration - How to do it ?


Here we are guiding you how to do CA Foundation registration step by step. Follow the below mention steps -


#1 A student can register himself/herself for Foundation by filling the CA Foundation registration form available on the ICAI Portal.

#2 The form is available under the student tab - course registration forms.

#3 Now, a screen will appear where you need to register yourself by submitting your personal details like name, contact number, gender, DOB, Email etc.

#4 Remember friends, the email id and telephone number should be yours because an OTP will be generated to this id and number which you will require during the further process.

#5 After verifying the details, click on the submit button. This submission will send an OTP to your email address and phone number.

#6 Complete your verification procedure by submitting the OTP.

#7 Now, your basic registration on the ICAI portal has been completed. You can log in to your account, fill the pending details and proceed the payment of CA Foundation Registration Fees.

#8 After successful payment of the registration fees, the system will generate a form which needs to be deposited at the regional office of ICAI within 7 days along with below-given documents -

  1. Attested copy of your 12th Admit card/Marksheet.
  2. One latest photograph which needs to be affixed over the physical copy of the online application form.
  3. If the student is a foreigner, then Nationality proof will also require.
  4. If the student belongs to a special category like ST/SC/OBC or differently abled then such proof with attestation.
  5. Attested copy of your 10th Marksheet/Admit card in which your name and address has been written.

Note - Students shall note that, once you are registered for the CA Foundation course, ICAI will itself sent the study material to your registered address through the Centralised Dispatch System.

Fees for CA Foundation Registration -


Students are required to make a payment of the registration fee to enroll themselves for the Foundation course. Such fees can be paid by using a debit card, master card, visa.

The registration fee for the CA Foundation is Rs 9,000/-. Students are required to pay Rs 200/- additional charges for the prospectus and Rs 200/- for the student’s journal. Accordingly, the effective fee for the Foundation course is Rs 9400/-.
